In the 1800′s- early 1900′s, when american women were fighting for the rights that they have now, the pricipal roadblock was the entirety of the adherents of the christian faiths’ view on what the bible said was a women’s role in society (submit to your husband, stay quiet in church and in public)

in fact, as i understand, the only real supporter of women in this aspect were the secularists of that era.
for all christian history up until that point, it was the understanding of all of christians that the bible demanded that specific role for women. then, when women could no longer be denied rights like that, it all of sudden became conventional wisdom that the bible didn’t really mean that and wasn’t supposed to be interpreted that way. I think this is a huge gap in logic to think that christianity can collectively forget what was understood to be the bible view across all christian history. if i am mistaken here, please set me straight. what am i missing?

My 15 yr old daughter is obsessed with a 17 yr old boy. She told me she had allowed him to undress her while he kept his clothes on and.. He has fondled her at church and other times. She let it get out of control. She felt badly and tried to stop it but he couldn’t stop. He is extremely codependent and basically has no friends outside of friends he sees during school. She wants to go to college he doesn’t have any goals. She broke up with him for about a week after giving me the details. Now he has supposedly learned his lesson and has changed. Her friends say give him a chance. I am demanding that she not be his girlfriend. I spoke to his mom and asked that she tell her son to back off. Now she says he isn’t talking to her now, but I honestly don’t know. She is extremely angry with me and I am at wits end with this. Should I spy on her to see if she is with this boy? How long do I demand she come straight home from school? Can the school intervene if they see them together?
She also says he is her soul-mate. They did have a friendship which kept them up until 4am nightly texting against my rules.
We have talked many times about respecting her body and saving her self for marriage. I also told her not to French kiss because its foreplay. She has twin brothers who married in their early 20′s and saved themselves for their marriages. I hope she didn’t have sex yet, but maybe that is a real possibility.

well one of my friiends had an older boyfriend and it also got outta control it got to the point where all he wanted was sex. they kept breaking up and her parents wouldnt let her see him and she went behind there back and it got worse she almost got pregnant at the age of 15 many times
the only thing that you can do is warn her about this guy and pray that she’ll listen she might say she loves him but its not puppy love its puppy lust. 15 yr olds just need to find reality
